Bombay high court relief for over 300 projects in coastal areas
Offering major relief to over 300 infrastructure and development projects in coastal areas across the state, the Bombay high court virtually reversed a restraining order of the National Green Tribunal (NGT) that had barred any development permission until a new coastal zone management plan (CZMP) map is in place. There are over 30 major infrastructure projects, including ports in Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg areas, coastal roads in Thane and Konkan region and commercial and residential development projects in Mumbai and Navi Mumbai, which were affected by the NGT order.
